The DISPLAYPAUSE CHALLENGE


Our challenge as parents is not only to set a good example, but also to enforce strict and consistent rules in the face of increasingly complex technology!

Impossible? No. We need routines for screen breaks.

As a counterbalance. Here's your first 5-point plan as a challenge:

A) APP NOTIFICATIONS: OFF
You and your child decide how you live your lives. Not your phone.
B) NO PHONES AT THE DINNER TABLE
Ideally ALL phones in the house should be left by the entrance.
C) NO PHONES AFTER 7 PM
That's downtime. Otherwise, melatonin won't work.
D) SCREEN TIME < DisplayPauses
There have to be balances. Completely screen-free.
E) ONE MEDIA CONVERSATION PER WEEK
